"People talk about how carnosaurs are geared towards hunting sauropods, but how would they do so?
I always depict them going for the neck and tail to quickly disable them, or burrowing their heads into the sides and cloacae to start feasting on the good bits early (like hyenas and petrels) Anybody else got some ideas? Perhaps (non apatosaurine) sauropods would defend themselves by stomping the toes of carnosaurs tearing into their sides, and whipping ones that try to get into their cloacae. Obviously apatosaurines had brontosmashing to crush those coming for the base of the neck.
Perhaps the carnosaurs had some kind of counter to these defenses? Assuming mob mentality (not quite a pack, not quite just chance groupings) they could send out some to distract them before a horde of archosaurian teeth and claws come tearing into their juiciest bits Think hyena\crocodile\petrel
Now when people come on in a couple hours their minds will be assaulted by the imagery of hyenatreldiles ripping the guts out of legsnakes through their anuses"
Because I'm to lazy to rewrite all of this, so I copied a series of messages I typed into the PaleoPack skype group at 3 in the morning
Vampires! (spec evo ish
before I go on my weird tirade, I would like to say this loose idea could be used for other things this was just the context I though of it in
I just had a huge breakthrough in the terms of the anatomy of vampires of my fantasy universe!
They are a virus-parasite, a functional hybrid of both. The virus infects the human (in my fantasy universe this includes neanderthals), and spreads through out their bodies. Once every cell of the body is infected the virus uses the DNA of other things that particular strain has spread through in the past (aquatic creatures mostly) to make a symbiote from the infected own cells, reprogramming the needed ce
First quadrupedal theropod found
This quick running predator named Dromaeocursor enghi seems to have been quadrupedal based upon it's unique limb bones and bodily structure. 2018's Yi qi?. Also unique in that it is a weird look into how weird late Cretaceous Australia already was. The authors of the paper describing it hypothesize that it evolved the ability to pronate it's wrists when it's ancestors were arboreal, the wrist movement aiding the strange monkey-like paravians in moving through the trees rapidly. It was 3 meters (approx. 9 feet) long, and had a short bulky Deinonychus-esque skull, showing it to be a predator that contended with tough prey, and it's front limbs
NEW YEA
I am gonna have a hard tim adjusting to ending my dates with 18, it feels like it was just a month ago I wrote my other post, spooky.
Also, my year started off with a pack of coyotes yipping around just a crossed the road from my house, and me trying to keep the dog I've been looking after from trying to go fight them, like an idiot
On the topic of DA
I honestly keep forgetting it exists. I know I used to be pretty active all the time, and honestly I'm not quite sure what happened. I've got some old stuff to post, maybe some school doodles.
I'm gonna try and be more active, both artistically in general, and on this site. I've been thinking of maybe using some other site, but I'm the most used to DA and I'm scared of twitter and tumblr, so DA it is for now.
also something else coming up

I personally think they they did all of the above and just slashed and hacked the poor sauropods to death.
